Official opening of Horisontti sauna, Ytrebyfjæra
Welcome to the official opening party for Horisontti sauna at the turn of January-February – a new communal sauna at the end of the pier in Ytrebyfjæra in Vadsø, with a view of the Varangerfjord and the horizon.
Horisontti is a place for warmth, peace and community – inspired by Kven and Finnish sauna culture, Vadsø’s history and the landscape we live in. This weekend we invite you to the opening, swimming, culture and good meetings in the sauna capital of Vadsø, as well as steaming in a sauna yurt on the south side.
Time: 30 January–1 February
The first day of the opening weekend, Friday, January 30, is free, and there is no registration required!
FRIDAY, January 30: At 4:00 PM: Official opening of Horisontti sauna with family event in Ytebyfjæra. Cultural events, guests, light and heat. Possibility of a tour of the sauna. NO REGISTRATION and FREE FOOD!
At 4:30 PM: Possibility to visit the Horisontti sauna building (puljevis) – Architect Hallstein Guthu and artists Åsne Kummeneje Mellem and Benedict Beldam are present
At 6:00 PM: We invite you to the OPENING PARTY at the Kooperativet kulturscene. There will be a sauna market, speeches, entertainment and music by DJ Saunasatan. NO REGISTRATION, FREE SNACKS. DRINKS CAN BE PURCHASED IN THE BAR.

12:00-13:30: Sauna in Jomiskobadstua (max 7 people)
13:00-16:00: Shared lunch at SMØR – come whenever you want!
16:00-17:30: Aufguss with Lorna, Southern feeling – book at www.horisontti.no
17:30-19:00: Drop in – book at www.horisontti.no 19:00 until we finish: Guided tour, dinner and beer tasting at Qvænbrygg’s Taproom – the local brewery
19:00-20:30: Drop-in – book at www.horisontti.no

SUNDAY 1 February
Option to go to Kirkenes with Hurtigruten or by car on your own and visit the Sauna Yurt.
10:00-12:00: Kirkenes Sauna Association fires the sauna yurt for us!
